Crawl Space Drainage in Lake Station, Portage, Chesterton and Northwest Indiana Area
Save your Home by removing water from your Crawl Space!
Does your home have a wet or flooded crawl space? Do you see standing water around the perimeter of the crawlspace after it rains? Are the foundation block walls wet? Is the dirt floor muddy? If so, then you are in need of a crawl space drainage system.
There are several ways water gets in a crawl space. After it rains, groundwater builds up around the foundation, and leaks into the crawl space. Water will come in around the footing and foundation wall, fill the porous, block walls, and through cracks in poured walls. After it seeps in, it will puddle and flood, causing moisture to evaporate upwards into the home.
A standalone sump pit and pump cannot adequately remove all of the water. Water must be diverted to the pump before it surfaces onto the dirt floor of the crawl space. A wet environment can be very unhealthy and destructive. Mold thrives in wet crawlspaces and reproduces by producing airborne spores by the millions. Wood rot occurs in wet environments causing structural damage to the home.
Our Crawl Drain System is an interior perimeter water drainage system. It is installed to intercept water before it surfaces and puddles onto the dirt floor. The Crawl Drain installation consists of hand trenching next to the interior perimeter footing followed by the installation of drain pipe and gravel. The drain pipe is a 4” perforated, corrugated pipe that is backfilled with filtration aggregate to prevent unwanted sediment in the drains. Our Crawl Drain System carries a LIFETIME TRANSFERRABLE WARRANTY against standing water in your crawlspace. Exterior crawlspace drainage systems are recommended in some cases if installation is possible.
A 6 mil vapor barrier is installed over the dirt floor after the drainage is installed, but we highly recommend encapsulating your crawl space with Crawl Seal Encapsulation system for complete moisture control.
